The owner of TC Deli in Sai Kung, Henry B. Theil, has died, a staff member confirmed. The Danish entrepreneur had been ill for years undergoing kidney dialysis. He passed away last Tuesday. Henry founded TC (Top Chef) Food Services Ltd, which also operates a delicatessen at Hang Hau and a neighbouring restaurant, Lardos Steak House, as well as selling foods wholesale to restaurants and hotels.
Henry started TC Food Services in 1989 after leaving the Hong Kong Hotel where he was executive pastry chef. Previously he spent two years as a production chef at Cathay Pacific. Henry was trained as a baker and pastry chef at Paltholmskolen, Denmark. He is survived by his wife Rosa and daughter Michelle.
