The restaurant’s directors have entertained a group of interested buyers who spent weeks on due diligence then walked away. “Some of the potential buyers were not quite up to the task and were not serious so the transaction did not work,” Barry Collier, Steamers director, said.
Two more groups of potential buyers are in discussions with the Steamers partners and Barry would not say whether the asking price of $3 million has been lowered. “We are seeking someone or group that will do the right thing with the establishment and continue in the same vane: It will not become another Aqua or .Com,” Barry said.
“If no buyer is found we will continue with the status quo.”
